I finished my second book today!! I'll start my third tomorrow. I haven't missed writing about any day. I'm so proud of myself. This is one of those crucial years too. So much has happened. The transition from being a Senior in High School with all of my friends to being a freshmen and one of the best art schools in the country 9 hours away, with only two people I know of in the entire school from home. My first trip off of the continent, for the longest period of time, with my boyfriend. From family drama, to deaths in the family. It has been one of the most dynamic years of my life thus far. I'm so glad I have a record of it all. |

I'm home alone. Everyone is at school. . . I can't believe I'm not there, that I'm done with Virginia Beach City Public Schools. It's a good feeling, but also one of an adult. It's raining on the first day of school. I just heard some thunder, I peer outside the window and see the brilliant green marsh coming back after that long drought, and remember all the days I've done that before. The days where I lived here all the time, no thought of the oncomming responsiblilites that come with going to college and starting your own independent life. I realize that everyone else is thinking hell ya, I'm an adult now, I can party, stay up as late as I want, I'm not going to be treated like a kid, but I think one day they'll realized all that they lost not appreciating being a kid. So I'm resolved to stay 17 years and 364 days forever, just with a few more responsibilities. I believe that life will be more enjoyable that way.
Also new painting

Alright the grout is in. All that is left is to finish sanding and put a finish on it :). I'm leaving for Europe in 2 days! I'll be gone for 3 weeks faithfully writing in my journal about my first European experience, anyone have any tips? I'll be in France Spain and Portugal.

A Very Important CONTINUUM Update
When it comes to deciding on when to use a semicolon, you just have to feel it out. You'll know when.
If your lawyer was 8 years old and lived in England, it would be very hard to settle on a good time to both get on the phone.
Contrary to what you might have heard, adding the word 'now' when googling a phrase does not yield faster results.
There is no degrees symbol on a laptop. This is so it's harder explain to your friends over IM that your bed is about to catch fire and that you love them very much.
Lighters are very similar matches except that they do not offer you a receipt each time like matches do.
When somebody asks you if you watch LOST, and then get all bent out of shape when you answer "no", this is the best way to explain what a "douchebag" is.
I believe the "Pro" in "MacBook Pro" stands for "prototype".
Imagine how much easier it would be to stop terrorism in the show '24' if only everybody would enunciate.
"Limited Edition" is a great idea for sneakers but sucks for cancer medicines. Made you think.
Here in Hollywood, we have a saying - "Bend over and arch your ass for the camera."
I don't know about you, but if I ever hear the phrase "John, your journey ends here tonight", I'm just gonna start kicking balls.
When I pass through the lobby of a hotel, I like to offer a simple "I'm going out for a while!" or "I'm back!" to the front desk staff. Keep 'em up filled in.
Thanks for your time,
John |

| Art Project. . . |
[May. 10th, 2006|09:48 pm] |
So we're working on Realism in Painting/Drawing and focusing on Depth so I picked a rather difficult picture only because I haven't challenged myself all year and I feel the need to. This picture deals with a lot of perspective and foreshortening. Diffficult stuff. I've never really been a terrific sketch artist but here's what's happening so far.

I've been working on it at home because my class is so inspirationally stiffling. If that makes any sense. My teacher is crazy and won't help. He only tells you want to do he never shows you. |
